yoauto Ltd is an online marketplace based in the UK, offering a vehicle selling and buying platform. We are dedicated to safeguarding and managing your personal information by following best practice and current legislation. We aim to be secure, relevant and responsible when using your data.
This policy and our Cookie Policy applies to all visitors and users of www.yoauto.co.uk “The Website”, all of our online services and our customers (both private and trade).

The information below details when yoauto will collect your data when you are using our services and exactly what personal information we will capture from you:
Account Creation: Name, contact number, email address, full postal address including postcode.
Advert Creation: Name, contact number, email address, full postal address including postcode, vehicle information, IP address. We do not collect, hold or store your payment details.
Signing Up To The yoauto Community: Email address.
3. How We Use Your Information
The personal details you have provided to us is used to register your account with yoauto and create your advertisement. We will send you notifications via email and/or SMS to confirm that you have created your account successfully and confirm that your advertisement has been published. In addition, we will send you communications explaining how to manage, update, and if required delete your account. You can control how you receive notifications by visiting and logging into your yoauto personal dashboard. You can also amend and/or delete your advertisement via your yoauto personal dashboard.
You can assess your yoauto dashboard 24 hours a day to update or amend your details. You can also choose and change how we communicate to you. Your personal information will only be used for marketing purposes once you have given your consent.
We use your postcode to provide an approximate location of the vehicle that you have advertised on our site. By providing a postcode, this enables yoauto to present to potential buyers the approximate vehicle location, which allows potential buyers to sort and filter advertisements that are best suited to them.
Vehicle Registration Numbers are required to place an advertisement on our site for regulatory and security purposes. We will not reveal the vehicle registration number to anyone performing vehicle searches on the Website. However, if you choose to upload a photograph with the vehicle registration number displayed within your advert, then these details will be visible to our Website visitors who may use them without your authorisation. yoauto Ltd will take no responsibility for this, nor any issue/s that this may cause.
When your advert expires, we will contact you via phone, email or SMS to provide you with the option to re-advertise your vehicle.
We may use the data that you provide for internal business purposes to analyse in respect of helping to develop our product offerings and services further.
During the “Sell My Car” process, you will be asked to provide a contact number and email address. The contact details that you provide will be displayed within your advert. It will be your responsibility to ensure the accuracy of the information you have provided - yoauto will accept no liability for any inaccuracies in the information you provide and any issue/s that this may cause.
You will also be required to input your payment card details to place your advert. We only use third-party payment providers to manage online card payment transactions. Payment card information is collected over a secure online payment gateway provided by: Paypal, which is then processed in accordance with their privacy policy: please see https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full for more details.
All payment transactions that are processed are encrypted. Your payment card information is used solely to process payment for your advert. We retain no record of your payment card details.
If you have chosen to sign up to our yoauto community newsletter, we will communicate with you via email and SMS. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe button on any newsletter email. Please be aware that it can take a short period of time for a change in preference to update, so there can be a window where you still receive communications from us.
If you choose to create an account with yoauto, we will hold your nominated email address and your chosen password. Once you have registered, you can then edit the personal details in your account. If you log-in via Facebook or Google, then you should be aware that those sites may automatically give yoauto access to your limited personal details (including your account ID and email address) in order to confirm if you are logged in with their site. Once you are logged into yoauto your use of our Website and your data will be handled and managed in accordance with this Privacy Policy and also our Cookie Policy. Please be aware that yoauto is not responsible for any use of your personal data by Facebook, Google or any other social media site or online platform.
If you contact a seller through yoauto, you will need to provide your details; including your name, email address and also your telephone number which will then be passed to the relevant seller (private or dealer). Each request form you complete clearly indicates that you are giving authorisation for your details to be passed to the relevant seller.
Information we will collect if you use our mobile optimised Website
If you choose to access our mobile optimised site, yoauto may receive information concerning your location and also your mobile device, including a unique identifier for your device. We will use this information to enhance your online experience with us via location-based services, including tailored advertising, vehicle search results and other personalised content. Information You Provide When Browsing Or Using Our Services On The yoauto Website:
To enable our “Vehicle Location” facility within the search function, you will need to provide your postcode in order to determine the distance from your location to the advertised vehicle location.
4. How We Use The Data We Collect
We use the information that we collect to:
Provide and administer the Website and related services and also to manage our internal operations, which includes troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, research, statistical and survey purposes, and to develop the Website and the products and services offered.
Generate an overall audience profile in respect of the visitors using our Website. We use this information to help us in developing relevant content on the Website in addition to encouraging trade advertisers in the automotive industry to place adverts for their stock and/or promotions on our Website.
Provide to those customers who have opted-in to receive marketing communications from us, relevant offers by email (including where the customer has provided insurance renewal date information and/or vehicle ownership details).
Provide a user-friendly online search experience; which includes the use of website analytics tools (described further in our Cookie Policy).
Identify the location of visitors in order to block disruptive or fraudulent use and to establish Website traffic from other countries.

We may process the information you provide yoauto based on more than one lawful ground, which will depend on the specific purpose which we are using it for as detailed below:

This processing is required for us to provide the service you have requested, which includes registering your account and managing it, and providing service updates to you and our support services when needed.

This includes where you specifically request for your details to be passed onto a third party (for example where you make an enquiry regarding a test drive or a vehicle for sale), or where you have opted-in to receive relevant marketing communications from us (for example news and offers).
Legal Obligation: Where processing is required to comply with legal or statutory requirements placed on us. For example, cooperating with law enforcement agencies in relation to their endeavours.
Legitimate interest: To improve our Website, product offering and services. In addition to this, to understand how visitors and customers use our Website, product offering and services, undertake market research and inform our general marketing, to run our business and maintain the security or our Website and services for you, us and other Website visitors and customers.
5. Sharing Your Personal Data

We are not responsible for any use of your personal data by these parties except where they act as our processor.

yoauto follow strict security procedures in respect of the storage and disclosure of your personal data, and to protect it against accidental loss, destruction or damage. Will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy. All information you provide to us is stored securely within the EU, and not transferred outside the EEA unless explicitly detailed.

General retention periods apply to any personal data we collect to enter into a contract with you or to perform that contract or because we have a legal obligation to process it.

This includes deletion of the yoauto account linked to the email address provided and/or used in publishing an advert. However, we will retain the personal data that relates to a contract between you and yoauto to perform the contract, defend or pursue our legal rights and meet our obligations towards regulatory or governmental authorities.

Please note we will make every effort to erase data where this right has been exercised by you and we no longer have a legal basis for processing same but some personal data sets are impossible (or infeasible) to edit or remove (eg. server backup or microfiche).
